(Fully acoustically treated room, no time limit, including rhythm fixing and take comping. After recording, we make a cup of tea, relax, then go through all takes together and pick the best one. If none of the takes are good, we will record more without additional charge)

'Track' refers to an individual audio track within a song rather than a whole song, for example, a vocal track, a guitar track.

Multiple short tracks can be considered as 1 track

Multiple takes for the same track are considered as 1 track

 

We do not impose a time limit on recording sessions, allowing our clients to enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable recording experience. However, a recording session is intended for recording purposes only. The recording fee includes editing and processing of files recorded during the same session, but does not include additional work such as chopping or editing backing tracks, mixing, songwriting, or adding additional instruments. If you would like us to edit, modify, or add additional instruments to your backing track during the session, you must notify us and agree to any additional charges before the session. We reserve the right to decline any additional requests that have not been discussed and agreed upon in advance.

This price guide only provides general guidance for preparing quotes. The final quoted price may vary depending on the nature and requirements of each individual project.

Examples​

1. Record 1 vocal with a supplied backing track (no post-production):

4. Record 1 vocal and 1 guitar (vocal tuning, mixing and mastering):

Vocal is the main track, which is charged for £50.

Guitar is the additional track, which is charged for £30

Vocal + backing track mixing: £40 (I would charge the same price as the vocal + backing track mixing)

5. Record 3 vocals and 2 guitars (vocal tuning, mixing and mastering):

Assuming all tracks are playing throughout the song. The lead vocal is the main recorded track, there are 4 additional tracks.

3 vocal tracks need to be tuned.

Assuming there is no other instrument to mix. Total stems: 5​. Mixing price: £45

Total = (£50 + 4 × £30) + 70% (3 × £20 + £45 + £30) = £264.5

6. Record 3 vocals and 2 guitars (vocal tuning, mixing and mastering):

 

Assuming the lead vocal and the rhythm guitar run through the whole song, the 2 backing vocals only sing at the choruses and the lead guitar only plays during the instrumental breaks, the total length of the 2 backing vocals and the lead guitar combined is about the same as the lead vocal track.

 

The 2 backing vocal tracks and the lead guitar combined are considered as 1 additional track.

 

The 2 backing vocals combined are considered as 1 track for vocal tuning.

In conclusion, there are 2 additional tracks, 2 vocal tracks to be tuned, 5 stems to be mixed (£45 for mixing).​

7. Record 3 vocals and 2 guitars with 10 additional stems provided by you to mix (vocal tuning, mixing and mastering):

Assuming the lead vocal and the rhythm guitar run through the whole song, the 2 backing vocals only sing at the choruses and the lead guitar only plays during the instrumental breaks, the total length of the 2 backing vocals and the lead guitar combined is about the same as the lead vocal track.

The 2 backing vocal tracks and the lead guitar combined are considered as 1 additional track.

 

The 2 backing vocals combined are considered as 1 track for vocal tuning.

Based on the price list above, mixing is £45 for up to 5 stems.

Every additional stem ​is charged for £1​​.

Additional stems: 15-5=10

Mixing price: £45 + 10 × £1 = £55

 

In conclusion, there are 2 additional tracks, 2 vocal tracks to be tuned, 15 stems to be mixed (£55 for mixing).​

Payment

​

For recording sessions, once a quote has been accepted, we will arrange a time slot that is adequate to finish your project. On the occasion where the project cannot be finished within the booked time slot, we may arrange another time slot without additional cost. You only pay if you would like to take the recorded files by the end of the session. Recorded audio files can only be sent to you once the quoted amount has been paid in full.

For post-production services, once a quote has been accepted, clients are required to send all the relevant audio files to production@jiamingmusic.com. We do not accept USB sticks or mixing session bookings. We will send you the first draft within 3 days and you can ask us to make adjustment for several times. On the occasion where you are still unsatisfied with our service after multiple adjustments have been made, we will not charge you anything. Please note that drafts are only sent as a section of your song unless the full amount has been paid. 

 

A 50% deposit is required before work begins on EP and album projects. If a client decides to withdraw from the project after work has commenced, we may refund part of the deposit, depending on the amount of work that has already been completed. Any stems that have been produced as part of the project will be provided to the client as WAV files and sent to the email address provided by the client.

Jiaming Music respects and protects the privacy and intellectual property of our clients. Clients' recordings and audio files are treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties or publicly distributed without the client’s written consent. Copyright in musical works and sound recordings is respected and handled in accordance with applicable UK copyright law, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA 1988).
